Modus is built on the belief that a focus timer should support your work, not observe it. Modus is designed to collect as little as possible, keep everything on your device, and never use your information for anything beyond making the app work.

This policy explains what Modus stores, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not avoided.

What Modus stores on your device

Modus stores the following information locally on your device. Nothing in this list is transmitted to Modus or any third party:

• Your session history, including duration, timer mode, optional intention, and focus history
• Your timer preferences, including custom Pomodoro intervals and Flowtime break ratios (Modus Pro)
• Your chosen theme, phase sound, and timer preferences
• Your notification preferences
• Your in-app purchase status
• Whether you have completed onboarding

All of this information is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage systems (such as SwiftData or UserDefaults). It exists solely to make the app function correctly and to preserve your experience between sessions.

All data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync. Modus does not transmit your data to any external servers it controls.

iCloud sync

Modus offers optional iCloud sync across your Apple devices. When enabled, your session history and preferences are synced using iCloud.

• Data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple
• Modus does not operate any servers and never receives your data directly
• Syncing is optional and can be disabled at any time in the app's settings

Apple's privacy policy governs any data stored in iCloud and can be found atapple.com/legal/privacy.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. Modus does not see, handle, or store any payment or billing information. All transactions are managed directly by Apple.

What Modus does not do

• Modus does not collect personal information
• Modus does not transmit data to external servers
• Modus does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
• Modus does not require an account or login of any kind
• Modus does not share your information with third parties
• Modus does not sell your data, ever, to anyone
• Modus does not display advertisements, and never will

These Terms of Service govern your use of Modus: Flowtime & Pomodoro ("Modus"), an iOS application developed and operated by Calvin Ng, based in Singapore.

By downloading or using Modus, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Modus is a focus timer app offering Flowtime, Pomodoro, and Open Timer modes. The core experience is free, with no expiry and no hidden restrictions.

In-App Purchases

Modus offers an optional Modus Pro upgrade, a one-time purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. Modus Pro unlocks unlimited session history, calendar and statistics, Live Activity and Dynamic Island, custom Pomodoro intervals and Flowtime break ratios, and all themes and phase sounds.

All purchases are:

• Processed by Apple. Modus does not handle or store any payment or billing information
• Non-refundable, in accordance with Apple's standard App Store refund policy
• Restorable. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore previous purchases at no additional cost using the Restore Purchases option in Settings

For refund requests, contact Apple directly atreportaproblem.apple.com. Modus has no ability to issue refunds independently of Apple.

iCloud Sync

Modus offers optional iCloud sync for all users. When active, data is stored in your personal iCloud account managed entirely by Apple. Modus does not operate any servers and never receives your data directly.

Acceptable Use

Modus is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality

Intellectual Property

All content within Modus, including the design, code, copy, and app icon, is the intellectual property of Calvin Ng. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without explicit written permission.

Privacy

Your privacy is important. Modus stores all data locally on your device. No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared with third parties. For full details, refer to the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Modus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Calvin Ng does not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. Use the app at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calvin Ng shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Modus, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of revenue.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or App Store update notes. Continued use of Modus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
