Vesper is built on the belief that an evening reflection app should hold your thoughts privately, not observe them. Vesper is designed to collect as little as possible, keep everything on your device, and never use your information for anything beyond making the app work.

This policy explains what Vesper stores, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not avoided.

What Vesper stores on your device

Vesper stores the following information locally on your device. Nothing in this list is transmitted to Vesper or any third party:

• Your daily reflection answers, the dates they were recorded, and any notes you chose to add
• Your chosen theme and customisation preferences
• Your notification preferences and chosen reminder time
• Your in-app purchase or subscription status
• Whether you have completed onboarding

All of this information is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage systems (such as SwiftData or UserDefaults). It exists solely to make the app function correctly and to preserve your experience between sessions.

All data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync. Vesper does not transmit your data to any external servers it controls.

iCloud sync

Vesper Plus users can optionally sync their reflection history across their Apple devices using iCloud.

• Data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple
• Vesper does not operate any servers and never receives your data directly
• Syncing is optional and can be disabled at any time in the app's settings

Apple's privacy policy governs any data stored in iCloud and can be found at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Subscriptions and purchases

Vesper Plus is available as a monthly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase, all processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. Vesper does not see, handle, or store any payment or billing information. All transactions are managed directly by Apple.

What Vesper does not do

• Vesper does not collect personal information
• Vesper does not transmit data to external servers
• Vesper does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
• Vesper does not require an account or login of any kind
• Vesper does not share your information with third parties
• Vesper does not sell your data, ever, to anyone
• Vesper does not display advertisements, and never will

These Terms of Service govern your use of Vesper: Evening Reflection ("Vesper"), an iOS application developed and operated by Calvin Ng, based in Singapore.

By downloading or using Vesper, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Vesper is an evening reflection app. It asks one question each evening and receives your answer without judgement. The core experience is free, with no expiry and no hidden restrictions.

Vesper Plus

Vesper offers an optional Vesper Plus upgrade available as a monthly subscription ($1.99/mo), annual subscription ($14.99/yr), or one-time lifetime purchase ($49.99), all processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. All purchases are:

• Processed by Apple. Vesper does not handle or store any payment or billing information
• Non-refundable, in accordance with Apple's standard App Store refund policy
• Restorable. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore previous purchases at no additional cost using the Restore Purchases option in Settings

For refund requests, contact Apple directly atreportaproblem.apple.com. Vesper has no ability to issue refunds independently of Apple.

iCloud Sync

Vesper Plus users can optionally sync their data across Apple devices using iCloud. Data is stored in your personal iCloud account managed entirely by Apple. Vesper does not operate any servers and never receives your data directly.

Acceptable Use

Vesper is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality

Intellectual Property

All content within Vesper, including the design, code, copy, and app icon, is the intellectual property of Calvin Ng. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without explicit written permission.

Privacy

Your privacy is important. Vesper stores all data locally on your device. No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared with third parties. For full details, refer to the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Vesper is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Calvin Ng does not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. Use the app at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calvin Ng shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Vesper, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of revenue.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or App Store update notes. Continued use of Vesper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
